Surely you are not familiar with this equipment . If you see a musical performance and you can be sure there is generally close to the stage this tool .
Usually near the power amplifier or head cabinet musical instrument .So various types are frequently encountered but in general functions and uses are the same .If in my country is probably the most common type used is as shown below .
Now i will explain the function and installation of the most common techniques used on Toms homerecord sound system .
Function DI Boxes (Direct Injection) Boxes main thing is to change the unbalanced signal into balance so that signals can be sent through long cables without reducing the signal quality significantly . Therefore the role of DI Boxes for live performances is needed , due to the cable used from the stage to the front of the mixer / FOH tolerable length of about 50 meters or less . Commonly used DI Boxes for instruments such as guitar , bass , keyboards , synthesizers , etc
Then how home recording / studio band , whether it takes the role of DI Boxes ? The answer depends .... meaning depends on the cable used . If the cable length is only about 4-5 feet seems we still do not need a DI Boxes , or for other functions , DI Boxes also can be used to change the model of jack plugs into a jack XLR ¼ size .
I take the example of the DI 1000 there are features Cabinet Emulation Virtual 4x12 speaker that converts the signal into a signal line that balance , that is the main mixer in sound system outdoors as reading the same signal from the microphone to the speaker cabinet mugged .
There are several ways mounting DI Boxes that can be used :
1 . For example, we wanted to take the character and head amplifier effect simultaneously, in other words we do not use the mic hold-up man . Then for the sequence is Guitar > Effects > Input head cabinet > DI Boxes input and parallel out directly into the head cabinet .
2 . For example, we use the mic hold-up man ( I demonstrated for guitar ) wanted to take the character head guitarist and effects separately . Then for sequence is Guitar > Effects > DI Boxes and parallel out is entered into the Input head cabinet .
3 . For home recording / studio band ( I demonstrated for the guitar ) if you want to take from the original clean pick up your guitar and the sound of the effect separately so it does not need double take then the order is Guitar > Input DI Boxes . While the parallel out > Effect > Input head cabinet plus microphone head pointed at the cabinet / DI Boxes extra , so you use two separate channels for recording your guitar .
I think it is quite safe and very simple to use DI Boxes if we understand the installation technique and tailored to their needs .
So some way of mounting DI Boxes above we can conclude that the installation on the sound system for musical instrument it all depends on the tool itself needs , which one is better ? definite we use the tool to produce good sound quality and nice so it can be worth presented to music lovers in the country. . .
